STUART | St. Joseph School in Stuart recently announced the opening of the Bongino Family Innovation Lab, made possible by a donation from the Bongino family and the support of many other families. The addition, launched at the start of the 2024-25 school year, aims to transform the educational experience of students by fostering a hands-on, technology-driven learning environment.
At the core of the lab is the belief that learning is best accomplished through active engagement and real-world application. The state-of-the-art lab is designed to cater to the needs of a dynamic student body, featuring cutting-edge technology such as 3D printers, robotics kits and interactive computer workstations. The school hopes to not only complement traditional classroom instruction but inspire students to dream big, think critically and solve real-world problems with innovative solutions.
This school year, St. Joseph’s students in kindergarten through eighth grades will be the pioneers of this new classroom. Through interactive lessons, collaborative projects and access to the latest tech tools, students will gain hands-on experience in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), enhancing their critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
“Our vision is to create a space where students can take what they learn in the classroom and apply it in a real-world context,” said Mindy Miller, principal. “The Bongino Family Innovation Lab is a dream come true for our school, and we cannot thank the Bongino family and our school and parish community enough for their generosity. We believe this space will open doors to endless possibilities for our students.”
