Celebrating Catholic education

Students

Since 1974, Catholic Schools Week has been an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Catholic schools have an irreplaceable role in the church’s evangelizing mission.

Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses, pancake breakfasts, presentations from local fire stations, picnics, and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through the events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the church, communities and the nation.

High school Masses

To celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2025, Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito presided at Mass at the three Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Palm Beach: John Carroll in Fort Pierce Jan. 28, Saint John Paul II in Boca Raton Jan. 29 and Cardinal Newman in West Palm Beach Jan. 30.
